The Audio Library section has been the driving force behind this project and has been up and running for almost ten years. The aim of the Audio Library is to preserve recordings of the Basque language as spoken in Navarra and to make them available to anybody interested in such sound material. Many private and institutional research projects have recorded valuable spoken testimonies of this dialectal treasure over the last 40 years. Most of these recordings were stored on media (cassette tapes) highly susceptible to deterioration. The Audio Library has also continued to compile and include in its collections recordings made as part of important linguistic and ethnographic studies performed over recent years.
The audio documents in the Basque Media Library of Navarra are in MP3 format (16 Kpbs quality)
